I was doing morning HRV measurements for a while, but noticed that they are very susceptible to slight changes in breathing. So I tried breathing at a fixed rate, but this wiped out any signal...

which device were you using? the PolarH10 is so good I really wonder why I ever bothered with anything else. The only downside is that it's a chest strap, which is less convenient.

I had a Polar chest strap, but had to use electrode gel to get a reliable signal (perhaps my skin is too dry and non-sweaty in the morning?).

Also tried using the phone camera, but that burnt my fingers šŸ™ƒ

Ended up getting a Scosche Rhythm24, works great (as long as you don't move).

Do you have a discount code for polar 10 hrv strap? I’d like to try it out

I don't have a discount code but the regular price ($104) is very reasonable. I got mine at REI but they're sold lots of places online. This has got to be among the best self-tracking deals ever: you get clinical-grade heart/HRV tracking -- much better than Oura or Whoop, at a much better price.
